Yucca; White Isn't White

Painting a form of the Yucca right now, the leaves are a whitish-blue/green and the flower is white but isn't! I am having to use a lot of light yellows and pinks, lavender and creamy undertones for this painting. My usual is so bright that I am having to layer on white gouache to keep my painting from being of the florescent variety! I am enjoying watching the colours dry and then laying on another layer of paint. This is the beauty of watercolors, allowing the paint time to develop!
