Solar Eclipse; Papaya Kiss

During the recent solar eclipse, I began this fun painting of the Papaya tree, fruit & flower. I thought it fitting to insert the moon as it passed over the sun into the work in a creative, vibrant way. The end of this year is near, 2020, and there is the astrological idea of the "Dawning of the Age of Aquarius" coming in on December 21st, hopefully bringing with it a new vision within humanity and the way we operate together as ONE. Let's foresee 2021 as being a fresh start, a new rebirth!

Not many people know what a papaya flower looks like so I've blown them up a bit here. They are tiny little blossoms that sprout out close to the main trunk of the tree and also along the branches. Being in Maui, Hawaii, the skies are often the turquoise colour I have been playing with as a background for both this piece and the last; Rainbow Pineapple Dapple. Hot pinks accentuate both pieces, it must have to do with the Hawaiian island lighting and mind-set!

Sometimes I feel like I could go on and on with a piece and although there seems to be more I could do with this piece, for now I am calling it quits and letting the paint and the ideas settle. With the holiday season coming in very soon within the week, I am anxious to wrap up this piece and call it a night to get out to the beaches more before New Year roles in! I am envisioning a mindful & expansive year for 2021 and I wish the same for you!
