Electric Punk Blue Bonnet

The Bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas.  I most likely will be painting some more of these now that I live here but this painting obviously has some residual electric colours flowing over from my Thailand trip!  The flower is a Bluebonnet but the background is usually a field of more Bluebonnets so this is a different take on them.  I am hoping to express the Texan sun as it beats down upon its subject.  I enjoyed splattering the painting with some bright blue and working a lot of darker layers into the paper.  The Texan Bluebonnet is a much loved flower here in the heart of Texas!
