As I walk the woods around here and hum "Winnie-the-Poo" songs and see "Ratty on the River" from Wind in the Willows in my head, my housemate has a whole other fantasy going on, and she is almost done with her book about it! At Anglesea Abbey there are large statues scattered around the property, being an old large Estate. Part of her job during school season is to take the kids there for walks and some volunteer work. She has come up with an idea that the statues come to life and help the kids with building a den. Well, I won't go on too much, let the cat out of the bag with the ending, but it is a real sweet story, one can follow her on @andimacart
I got to walk around the woods with her and see some of her heroines today firsthand, do some funny joyful jumps and have a nice tea and chat (with treats).
Having an art form is so precious, one where you can indulge yourself and get lost in while you work. I do miss my painting but it is also a time for me to be focusing on organizing my future with the sale of my home in Texas, trying out different living arrangements, areas of Cambridge and see what works and what doesn't. I bought a National Trust year membership yesterday to go see some of the large estates in my country and especially in Cambridgeshire while I am here. This in conjunction with the Botanical Garden membership will bring me joys while I wait for home to sell to be able to find a UK home of my own, even if just renting for a year...it is just one big adventure!
I have 3 weeks left before heading to the States and that will be a time of real care, thoughtful preparation and excitement too.
I have been so blessed with having such a sweet home life here in Waterbeach before moving on into the main city center of Cambridge!

We are 1/2 way through the Summer and I am "feelin' fine"! Enjoying my roll-top Smart car cruising the country-side, popping into galleries, integrating more and more into Cambridge Massage Therapy opportunities and also remembering to keep my own yoga & art alive. I feel like my time back in England could last a long time, make a home here, create a lifestyle of being happy working with both my bodywork and art gifts I have to share. Soon I will be bringing over my precious things I have collected from around the world, not all but as much as I feel is reasonable. England is smaller and so is my budget as compared to what I am used to however I can make it work and feel all snuggly in my Britishness I have been missing as I go about doing this.
The world is a big place and has so many ways to live, I have tried a variety of lifestyles and all have felt enriching, fulfilling, unique and adventurous. A small sample:
Living in a tent in Hawaii 6 months
Living on a 32' sail boat off the coast of California for 6 months
Living in a Redwood cabin with cold running water and a wood burning stove 3 years, one elec outlet
Living in a Victorian Townhouse in The Marina in San Francisco
Living in a Mansion in London with 50 young adults from all over the world for 10 months
Living in tent in Ibiza for a few summers doing Massage Therapy at Club Med
Living in a Castle in Scotland for 2 years
Living in a French Chateau for 6 months
Living out of all girl dorms and some solo apartments on Air B & B while I travel on and off all over India, Nepal, S.E. Asia, Mexico, S. America
Living out of hotels in Cape Town
Enjoying my own home in the Hill Country of Texas now coming to a close.

It has been a joy to be organizing to get back to my profession of massage and moving forward with consultation work also as time moves. I must keep up with the times and have a way for people to book online for ease on both sides. There are many companies out there and finding an easy straightforward cost effective system is key. The main thing is for people to be able to find me on google maps and then book. Most will be locals so will be looking for a specific easy to get to treatment room with parking, and I can offer that!
I have 3 days of massage promotions with various yoga classes starting tomorrow and one day of working at an event to promote myself then 2 days of botanical illustration in watercolour at the Uni's gardens again then back to massage next Wednesday, so it is really very "Go-Go-Go" with all coming together to create this beautiful new path I am on, combining both the massage and my art.
I was fortunate to meet a yoga instructor here that is creating a lot of outdoor events and even has created a local Cambridge Yoga Fest that I will be involved with July 15th & 16th.
I am excited to watch how this all comes together, evolving into an easy flow of massage 3 days a week or more and then the art a few days a week making sure to enjoy my new lil convertible smart car this summer too! I give thanks everyday for my health, happiness and harmonic way I am weaving my preferred passions into a beautiful life tapestry!
