"Enlightened Wanderings" was my Summer 2018 expo all about educating locals in my home town of Texas in the Hill Country about Nepal & India...as I am still on the move my Bali expo in Oct. is called "A Botanical Dance through Medicine, Magic & Myth." This will be about the medicines found in local Balinese plants but this time the tables are turned due to the fact that I am the one that will be learning more about local customs and beliefs revolving around Balinese lifestyles and sharing it with others to the best of my ability! I will be involving some local Balinese people to help me with this for sure!!

Back in France for a few days strolling around the elegant beauty that is all around here. Van Gough painted in the Provence area of France and others that I admire. The soft colours around with the various buildings, fields and gentle skies are easy to live in and light feeling. Working on a bamboo painting at the moment is showing the bright light fun influence I am receiving here. I also am receiving some sweet treats to indulge in as to the wonderful variety of pastries, chocolates and nougat so I'll be happy to be back to my yogini lifestyle come the autumn but for now, eh, "C'est la vie!"

Up next for one of my "Bali Magic Collection" is Bamboo! Indonesia is one of the largest exporters of bamboo worldwide. It is used for many things within the Balinese community. Some of the most incredible architectural structures I've seen in Bali are made of bamboo. It is also used for furniture, handicrafts, musical instruments, ceremonies, baskets, utensils toys and even food. The leaves hold nutritional medicine and the young shoots are used in some local dishes. In the western world we call the bamboo furniture rattan, the semi-summery style woven chairs, couches and even floor mats. For this painting I'll be exploring the many types of bamboo I have seen on Bali and in various other S.E. Asian countries and putting together some red, purple, green and yellow bamboos to represent the vast array I have come upon. Let the fresh white sheet of paper begin to take form!
